Tbf, Boeing numbers are a lie too.

Firstly a 747-8, which is what the new Airforce One will be based on costs like $375m and the US will be purchasing two, which is about $850m.

Now they'll have to outfit it with security stuff for POTUS, so if we say like $100m for the two planes, that's already about $1.05bn, so while it's not $4bn, it's far above $170m.

Unless if Boeing are just counting the outfitting costs only or maintenance costs or something over its lifetime, which doesn't make sense, the cost of purchasing and outfitting the plane has to be factored in too. There's no way the US is buying two 747-8's from Boeing for just $170m.

Basically both numbers are false, but I guess Trump's numbers are false by a bigger margin?
