When factoring in Album sales, single success, touring success and starpower, who takes it?

If we translated Adele's success the time when Mariah/Britney/Whitney etc were peaking, Adele would be trump them all in all aspects.

RITD is bigger than any Mariah song

Her current tour is already tonnes bigger than any Mariah tour.

You could argue that Mariah was a more consistent hitmaker though.

Two back to back 20 million sellers in the swamp of sales, a huge tour, a lot of demand, and not going anywhere- you wish

Adele dominates in album sales in a way that's just so unprecedented. Mariah's album sales were great, yes, but not that unusual for her time. Adele literally has no competition.

Adele is a Worldwide Phenomenon TM, so oviously her Mariah was never really big outside the US

Thriller at 3 just edging out Fearless at 4

Hard to call. Touring numbers were not relevant in the 90s when only rock bands really toured... but albums/singles were much more expensive then soo... I'd say about even.
