She will be at the UN, so she doesn't have to own up to any of Trump's domestic policies in the US...in case Trump doesn't want to run again in 2020, Haley would have the needed "foreign policy" experience as UN Ambassador to back up her presidential bid. She is more to the center than Pence...she could get away with supporting some of Trumps populist ideals like infrastructure spending, and trade while being more inclusive to minority groups.

Haley wouldn't of accepted this post if she wasn't thinking about running for President in the future.
