Yet the same people who drag Trump also drag Melania in sexist ways, pretty much saying she's less of a woman because she did playboy, calling her a ****/***** etc when the only thing she's guilty of is marrying Trump.

Sexism AND Racism were ok against Michelle Obama for YEARS, despite being an accomplished Ivy League graduate with the biopsy of résumés so I guess it's just part of the deal with being a public figure and Melania will have to learn to whether the attacks like Michelle did all the while staying classy.

To be honest, I never understood the American style of campaigning, where there is so much emphasis put on the significant other of the candidate. The abuse was unacceptable when it was directed at Michelle, and remains unacceptable against Melania.

Also, Michelle Obama received about 1% of the bigotry that Melania Trump is currently receiving. With Michelle Obama it was a tiny number of people on the out-skirts of Western society doing it, and they were criticised by EVERYONE for doing it. With Melania Trump sexism towards her is mainstream and mostly getting justified by people (including you).

You are correct that people are allowed to be sexist towards Melania, and you are correct to support people's freedom to be sexist! You are right that it's something people have to deal with when famous! You and I actually have a lot in common! ATRL is extremely pressed because Hillary LOST, so they have constantly been attacking anyone related to Trump including his family and people who didn't vote for Hillary. Not that I support Trump in any way whatsoever but its important to point out how much they come across as bitter Hillary stans rather than people who truly care about the future of the US. You're right. On the surface it is hypocritical for those who presumably advocate for women to attack Melania.

However there's a key difference that has to be noted. Melania is the wife of someone who has proven time and time again that he disrespects women and doesn't even bother to understand them.

She has not done anything to curtail this, and is essentially silently endorsing this attitude and belief system.

Furthermore, she does represent many things beyond being a woman that makes her less likely to garner any sympathy. She's an immigrant, yet Trump is anti-immigrant. She did sex work, yet Trump is running on a Christo-fascist agenda with his VP etc...

Yet, she's oddly OK with that.

So when people mock her for many things that she does, they don't do it because she's a woman. They are doing it ironically to prove a point. It's not necessarily a good thing, but is very much a human thing.

They don't attack her for being a woman, they attack her for what she represents. Not that I agree with that but that's not the same in my opinion.

I would be careful of saying something slanderous online; all the articles claiming that retracted their stories. This has been completely debunked.
