I still think she should have focused on some digital 4-track EP's down the line. She has various sessions with various producers with specialties in various genres. I feel she easily could have released an EP along with Change, and an other one recently with a disco-sound including Telepathy.
First I didn't mind that she took her time with her albums, since Stripped and Back To Basics are still two of my all time favorite albums. But her label influenced her already with Bionic, which basically melted two completely different concept into a great album with a very sloppy campagne and a very mixed image.
Then she returned later with Lotus, which felt like her label wanted a fun updated version of Stripped themed wise, but hired Alex Da Kid for that for the most part, which has done some AMAZING work with Imagine Dragons and Skylar Grey, but by the time Christina hit the studio with him, he was in the recycle mode. And even though I LOVE Your Body and Let There Be Love, that also wasn't all that.
Christina is more creative than the stuff she has put out the last few era's and I wish she would be able to choose artistry over certain things, but I feel the popstar inside of her, and certain restrictions or guidelines by her label prevent the artist inside to push for an other record in a certain mindset. Because Stripped came from anxiety, pain and past experiences, Back To Basics came from her growing up to certain music and her love for a certain era, even Bionic got heavily inspired by the birth of her son and raising him and the divorce of his father. But currently her music feels less genuine than before.
I know we can't judge yet, since we have heard no official music from this album or the sessions in the OP, but I have some worries
