Caitlyn Jenner raised $1.3 million for trans organizations
Quote:
On Thursday, we reported that Kylie Jenner donated $150,000 from the sales of a limited-edition Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit shade to Smile Train, an organization that offers surgery to children with cleft lips. But that sum, impressive though it may be, pales in comparison to the $1.3 million another Jenner — Caitlyn, to be specific — raised along with MAC Cosmetics for trans organizations in 2016. That family has lip-product-based philanthropy on lock.
Last February, MAC announced a collaboration with Jenner that took the form of a single lipstick shade — a rosy nude called Finally Free — and on Friday, the company revealed just how lucrative that partnership proved to be. Jenner and the MAC AIDS Fund's Transgender Initiative will divide those funds amongst 21 different transgender organizations nationwide to "serve the diverse needs and issues facing transgender communities."
In a statement, Jenner expressed her desire to continue to work as an advocate for the trans community:
"TRANSGENDER PEOPLE HAVE HAD UNPRECEDENTED VISIBILITY IN THE LAST FEW YEARS, BUT IT HASN'T ALWAYS BENEFITED TRANS PEOPLE, PARTICULARLY THOSE MOST IN NEED. WITH MAC I'VE FOUND A PARTNER THAT DEMONSTRATES A REAL COMMITMENT TO THE FUNDING OF TRANSGENDER SPECIFIC ORGANIZATIONS AND PROJECTS.... I'VE BEEN GRANTED AN EXTRAORDINARY PLATFORM, ONE BUILT UPON THE WORK OF COUNTLESS, AND TOO OFTEN NAMELESS, TRANS PEOPLE WHO CAME BEFORE ME. I'M HONORED TO BE A PART OF THIS MOMENT, AND TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY TO WHOM I OWE SO MUCH."
According to a release, the grants will go toward a variety of trans organizations that focus on access to health care, civil and human rights and economic empowerment and job readiness programs. "Today, we are so proud to build on our heritage and partner with Caitlyn Jenner to deepen our support to organizations working to end stigma against transgender people and provide trans individuals with the health care and a quality of life that they deserve", said John Demsey, group president of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. and MAC AIDS Fund chairman.
cute yeah but how that money will help now if Trump will make their lives hell, she is so wrong in many aspects she is not a true advocate, she lives in a bubble.
