Discussion: We need social justice

TBH lately I had been on the side that social justice had gone a little too far to alienate people, but after tonight it's clear that we NEED it. I will always stand for love, acceptance, and equality, not whatever Donald Trump stands for. Unfortunately, all of the -isms we most fear are more alive and well than I ever thought imaginable. Join in me in stopping criticisms against SJW when there are clearly bigger things to worry about. We really need to unite and stop fighting within each when both SJWs + non-SJWs have similar issues at stake with these results.

There was a great post on the election thread the other night talking about how people who voted trump are probably tired of being "dragged" by media/"SJW" (this is such a stupid term I swear) for being racist, xenophobe, homophobe and a person like Trump probably represent them. It's the same thing here in Brazil:
Our very own Trump is in charge of the biggest city (and a RELIGIOUS candidate won in Rio de Janeiro), when before he we had a left commander (that did amazing things for the city, but couldn't gather the poor vote and lost the reelection), and we had the unjustified impeachment of our president, fullified by the WHOLE media (that's right leaning here in Brazil).
I fear or the future of the whole world, since this way of thinking is not exclusive to one place, like the US.
Once again: I think it's unfair to say "SJW" are wrong, but the majority of people are not here for being dragged because of their flawed way of thinking. At the same time they can "drag" us and elect Trump, because they're the ones with the power and probably bigger in numbers.

It's the extremes of social justice that alienated independents and lost you this election. Social justice needs to be reasonable - not regressive. There are some SJWs that have contributed to this election and we need to suck it up and realize that.
