Has anyone ever done this to you?

It has happened to me at church a couple times and I've witnessed other churchgoers (all millenials) do it too. I think it's really disrespectful and immature.

If I don't want to talk to somebody, I at least have the tact to leave the conversation gracefully

Playing on your phone in what should be a face-to-face conversation is just rude. Keep it up after I politely tell you off the first couple of times and I will drop you the same way I'd drop a hot potato or a bad habit. I know that some people have poor social aptitudes and don't know any better, but stuff like this, to me, is simply disrespectful.

Edit: Of course, that's only if I'm not the one who initiated the conversation.
