Discussion: Pop girl infiltration of country music

In recent years, many main pop girls (like Beyoncé, Gaga, Rihanna, etc.) have been making country music while fusing into it hip hop and pop elements even though country music is a genre characterized by conservatism and traditionalism. Their brands are extremely liberal and accepting, as they have fought for the LGBT and black communities. This could finally make country music a more diverse and accepting genre, eliminating the sole genre that homophobes and racists could claim their own.

The joining of country and pop began in the 1950s when studio executives Chet Atkins and Owen Bradley wanted to create a new kind of music for the young adult crowd after "rockabilly stole away much of country music's youth audience".] According to Bill Ivey, this innovative genre originated in Nashville, Tennessee and thus became known as the Nashville Sound. He believes that the "Nashville Sound often produced records that sounded more pop than country", after the removal of the fiddle and banjo. Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves, and Eddy Arnold were among the most popular artists during this time.[This was intended to have country singers gain more success in pop music and sell more record. As old white people of the South dies of old age or something, the market for country music in America starts to crumble. Pop girls are starting to introduce country music to much diverse markets thus making country music more accessible around the globe and prolonging it´s life once more.
