Would you get a prenup or not?

Personally, I believe a prenup insinuates that you don't trust the person. I would never marry someone unless I trusted them enough to not scam me.

Prenup or no marriage. It's that easy for me. I'm not going to let a possibility for all of my money being stolen happen.

I wouldn't marry someone who insists on no prenup.

I absolutely would. Life events can change people. The person you marry at the age you marry will not necessarily be the same years later.

I would get one if I had that much money, you might trust them to begin with but not every marriage ends well no matter how it starts so its just easier to protect yourself and if the person wants to be with you for the right reason then they shouldn't mind getting a prenup.

In that scenario, I'm not sure.

But, if I was the poor one and I was marrying a rich person, I'd be against it. If I was marrying a poor person like myself, no I would not be against it.

They aren't legally binding in the UK.

If you are not in the relationship for the other person's money and you plan on being with them forever, then you should not care whether they ask you to sign a pre-nup.

I'm on the fence. I agree that you should never marry someone you can't trust + it's almost like you have no faith in the marriage and you're setting up plans for a probable divorce. But on the other hand, divorces can get SO NASTY. The person you thought you knew could turn into an absolute monster for the sake of spite.

Bit of both. Why marry someone you don't trust.. but then again, sometimes you have to be selfish and do what you gotta do

I'm all in favor of a prenup. Things change and sometimes marriage doesn't work out. It's whatever. I'll share all my money with my husband while we're married so that's not an issue, but in the event that we do divorce I want out with what I came in with.

Not true They are rarely upheld in English courts. In fact so few are actually upheld that the only recent ones to go through went through via the Court of Appeals.

Such a silly thing to be against and it has nothing to do with trust. People change throughout the years, some for the better and some not so much. It would be stupid to believe that your marriage will last forever or that your divorce won't be nasty.
A neighbour who was against prenups was madly in love and married the girl of his dreams. 7 years into the marriage she cheated on him, got pregnant and when he filed for divorce she had the nerve to get mad and went after everything she could get her hands on. She got half of everything in the end. That could've been easily avoided if a prenup was signed.
