Do you think it's wrong to encourage others to dump their education and start looking forward to an unguaranteed future? What makes some people assume that everyone has the "smarts" to run a business, or is even interested to begin with?

No, it's risky.

Whoever posted that must not understand that without a college degree it's possible to become rich, but it's extremely hard!

Taking risk is only impressive when it actually pays off.

To stay safe, consistent and stable > To risk failure and possibly ending up in debt.

That's a huge risk.
If your luck isn't EXTREMELY good, you're most likely gonna end up on the streets as a beggar.

To be fair, a college diploma doesn't guarantee you anything, either. Given your odds are better, but still.

I think, regardless of what you want to do, you have to first KNOW what you want to do. After that, it's a matter of doing whatever is necessary to get you to that point. A lot of very valid career options don't necessarily need any education further than high school.

In that sense, I wouldn't encourage someone to drop out, but I wouldn't encourage them to seek higher education, either. I'd really encourage people to discover what it is they really want from life first.
