my friend's job is doing anonymous hiv testing so i'm planning to go sometimes soon. it's interesting to hear her stories. sometimes people come for testing but never come back for results, and because it's anonymous there is no way to contact them when they're positive.
Even though it's great that everyone has to be tested once a year in my country of residence and it's generally extremely healthy, it's a huge tourist hub where people don't need HIV tests to get a visit visa.
The most I can do about it besides practicing safe sex (I don't do anal anyway) is never sleep with visitors or anyone who has slept with them, and hope for the best Or, I can wait 10 years more until my first-ever relationship.
