iPhone 7 32gb 9 times Slower Than 128/256gb Models
Quote:
Copying a high definition movie to a 32GB iPhone 7 takes 40% longer than to a 256GB iPhone 7. Meanwhile benchmarking the two models shows the 32GB option (which managed 42.4 megabytes per second) is almost 9x slower than the 256GB model (341MB per second).
I remember when people used to drag 8GB iPhones/iPads (and I had an iPod with 8GB) and then 16GB, when I got a iPhone 5S 16GB. I just got a 32GB iPhone 6s why do I manage to get caught in this
Do people know how flash memory/SSD works? It's really embarrassing.
The larger the volume, the more free space it has to work with.
The smaller the volume, the more the data has to be spread out into different sections, hence slower writing spread. And the read speed is exactly the same.
Which is why defragmenting was such a big deal back in the day when we had tiny hard drives.
It's not such a big deal.

If you get a 128GB SSD it's going to be slower than a 512GB SSD for sure.
Especially when you start filing it up. That's why computers get slower when you run out of space.
