I RAN to my laptop when I saw this thread title on mobile, because I was OFFENDED by the audacity of putting Little Mix and The Saturdays next to Girls Aloud.



I'll let y'all have a Sugababes vs Girls Aloud comparison, but get those wigged rats away from the real talent.



There is NO comparison between Girls Aloud and The Saturdays/Little Mix. First off, what even differentiates Little Mix from The Saturdays? Both literally use the same producers, same song structures, and the same album composition. Now, Sugababes were definitely original and they did their own thing, but Girls Aloud is THE all-female band of our lifetime, and not a single one of you tone-deaf twelve year olds is about to say otherwise while I'm here.



Hell, I will TAKE some WPs for this but IT. IS. NOT. HAPPENING.

I find Girls Aloud to be overrated on music forums. Maybe it's because I didn't follow them closely throughout their career but I find it hard to see just what was so special? None of their (even Tangled Up) are as good as you make them out to be. I will admit though they have some great singles though and Xenomania had moments of pop brilliance.

I think the first two line-ups of Sugababes brought some fantastic music that wasn't stereo typically bubblegum pop with 'Overload', 'Stronger', 'Freak Like Me' etc. 'Push The Button' however is as pop as it can get but is still incredible. That video embodies the perfect girl group, they are all on point. Let's not even get started on the music MKS were making. The artistry from those girls. 'Flatline' alone blows every other song by any of these girl groups out of the water!

The Saturdays had some good pop songs but there was something lacking. They were all attractive, had good chemistry but failed to deliver. I've yet to see a performance where I am wowed by them. It was all very cute but slightly school talent show.

Little Mix are by the far strongest performers out of the bunch (Cheryl had some great performances as a solo artist) but the majority of their music just isn't on par with Sugababes and Girls Aloud. They have yet to deliver a solid album - 'Salute' is their best effort thus far - and sadly that doesn't look set to change with the generic 'Shout Out To My Ex', as great as its doing on iTunes. Don't get me wrong, I will root for them but they will not be getting my coins for such mediocrity!
