ATRL: How to post your opinions without getting WPs!

Part 0. Intro

There have been a lot of times I'd see people saying things like "I got warned just because I was posting the truth!!!" and "Wow, you can't even have an OPINION on this site!!!!" - for these people, I have decided to create a guide to properly communicate your opinions in a way that won't result in WPs!

(It may still piss off a fan base, but they can seethe as you post about their fave without repercussion)

Part 1. Constructive criticism vs. Being rude

Let me use a sensitive topic for example - Lady Gaga's lead single from her upcoming album "Joanne". Now, I could be "honest!!!" by saying "I hate Perfect Illusion it's trash!" and end up getting warned, or I could express my opinion in a way that is constructive and won't result in a warning point.

"Perfect Illusion completely missed the mark, but with softer vocal delivery and a more low-key production, the song would be much better in my opinion."

I stated fairly bluntly that I didn't think PI was all that great, but I offered a way that I think could improve the song, and me posting something like that would NOT result in WPs, no matter how mad a Lady Gaga fan might get for me posting that.

Part 2: When being constructive just doesn't work

If you didn't already run down to the quick response box to post something like "The ESSAY

" or something about me being an ass kisser, you may be wondering - "But what if (artist/album/song) is just flat out bad with no way of ever improving?" and this is a good question! There are two approaches you could take with this.

1. Don't bother saying anything. It's a simple rule of society - if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

2. Post your full, uncensored and unapologetic opinion! Just don't start complaining when ATRL-o-Matic wants to drop a friendly message into your inbox.

And that's it! Hopefully I taught you how to post your opinions without getting WPs. You could even try it by replying to this thread!

("Hugamari as an ATRL member completely misses the mark, but with less mod ass-kissing and a better sense of humor, he would be a much better member in my opinion!" is much less warnable than "I hate Hugamari he's trash!" for instance.)
