Synopsis: Danny Kelly is a talented swimmer who attends a prestigious Melbourne private school on a sporting scholarship. Working class, half Greek and half Irish, he is the target of harassment from the privileged students.[3] Danny yearns to win swimming gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. He is taken under the wing of highly regarded coach, Frank Torma and develops a friendship/rivalry with teammate Martin Taylor which inspires Danny to become a world record holder.
I recently discovered this show. Has anyone else watched it? If not, I highly recommend it! If someone has, we can definitely discuss it. Perhaps Aussies have seen this.
It felt very open-ended. I wonder if it was on purpose to leave the rest for a second season? No word on if a second season will happen or not though. I hope they do it. I need resolution as wel. Still, I think the series was pretty great overall.
^I think it's really good. It's not a GAY, GAY show per se as QAF or Looking. Rather, it's the story of a boy who happens to be gay. To me, that's more interesting.
I liked it and it needs a second season. The ending was too open-ended, especially with the house thing and the mystery guy from Hungary being one third to get the house.

It's focus is not on the gay thing. It seems to be about the pressure on athletes and how failure affects them. It's pretty interesting if you like characters that seem real. I feel that if it gets a season 2 then there will be more on the gay aspect of it all.

Pretty much. If you want to watch a "gay" show, watch Looking or QaF.
But Danny was really into it imo. Martin was the one who was reluctant and cold, which is why people were wondering if Martin was just intrigued or if he actually liked Danny.
Perhaps Aussies have seen this.
