But despite the number of cruelty-free consumers increasing by more than 360 per cent over a ten year period, a new study has found that a third of meat eaters would be put off by dating a vegan.
While most singles consider looks, personality and career success as some of the top qualities to look for in a potential partner, a new survey by dating app TrueView has found that for many people, eating habits can make or break a relationship.
Men tended to be more bothered by a partner’s veganism than women, showing less enthusiasm at the prospect of giving up a hangover fry up or a roast dinner on a Sunday.
I would as long as they respected my diet. Or at least didn't try to persuade me radically
This. Vegans are obviously humans like everyone else, but I wouldn't date a radical one persuading me everyday or guilting me. Just like I wouldn't date a radical Christian, Muslim, Atheist etc.
crazy ignorant vegans are the worst and bring a bad name to vegans as a whole tbh
I wouldn't mind dating one, as long as they know what they're doing, not "eating meat is unnatural" type of vegan

We already have a "bad name" from pressed meat-eaters regardless so it doesn't really matter .
Same I couldn't date a vegetarian either .. it would just end up being annoying when it came to dinner and we'd have to have different meals most days and we'd spend the whole time ordering online wasting money and becoming fat.
And I probably wouldn't seriously date someone who eats meat. I'm not at all saying carnists are bad people, it's just a conflict of core values (that's how I see it at least), so I kinda get where they're coming from in the OP. For me, it would be like trying to date a conservative/republican - it just wouldn't work long term because our core values would be in constant discord; we wouldn't be able to ever get truly close because of the wall this conflict would build. Thankfully, my boyfriend is a vegetarian.
If those vegans smoke or drink alcohol, I won't either.
Lots of people are vegan for ethical reasons, not health. I'm not vegan but the fact you instantly assumed a vegan diet is about your body vs the planet suggests most vegans wouldn't consider you anyways so you don't have much to worry about
Every single vegan I know here, which is a lot cause Richmond is "hip", are insufferable and hard to be around.
Yes, you're one with the earth and in love with how you consume food, but that doesn't mean you need to remind every single person when they eat anything where it came from, how we're "ruining our bodies, animals and the earth", and everything else. If they wanna be vegan, they will.
The constant need to remind everyone they're vegan is irritating. I'm 100% for it, but I think it's rude to shove it in people's faces.
