The 27-year-old Girls Aloud singer and The X Factor judge has reportedly jetted back to Africa to spend New Year’s Eve with Derek Hough.
Earlier this year, Cheryl got malaria while she and the Dancing with the Stars pro dancer vacationed in Tanzania.
The two will be renting a swanky apartment in Cape Town, South Africa for their latest trip, according to reports.
Though Cheryl’s friends warned her about going back to Africa so soon, “Derek did his homework and found Cape Town is a malaria-free region,” a source said.

Cheryl taking acting lessons??
Cheryl Cole is rumored to be taking acting lessons! The beautiful brunette is hoping to become a big star over here in the USA. Cheryl is currently one of the judges of UK’s “X Factor” but there is buzz that Cole may be crossing the pond to join the US’ version of “X Factor.”
Perhaps the singer is hoping to branch out and act while she’s here. Who knows? A source came forward to say, “Alongside the acting lessons, she’ll be getting a coach to train her for her judges’ role in America.”
Well, coaching of any kind from a professional wouldn’t hurt. Maybe what prompted Cheryl’s decision to take acting lessons and get a coach were the blatant remarks of fellow UK star, Sharon Osbourne. Sharon had recently stated she didn’t think Cole would become a successful TV personality in the US. Major ouch!
Then again, it’s not like Sharon Osbourne is the woman one wants to emulate. Seriously, the major issues which have gone on in her household reads like a what-not-to-do if you want a manuscript for a healthy life. The world will just have to wait to see if Cheryl Cole becomes a major success or a major flop in the US.
