Katy Perry renewed her agreement with ASCAP, the American Society of Songwriters, Composers and Publishers.

In the case of Perry, it marks her 10-year anniversary as a member.
"ASCAP was in my corner before anyone knew who I was," Perry said in a statement. "That's one of the many reasons I'm loyal to them. They've always believed in me and my music, and they're great at supporting and protecting their members. ASCAP's a vital part of my team."
2016 marks the 10-year anniversary of Katy Perry's membership with ASCAP. Perry played an ASCAP SXSW acoustic showcase in 2008, months before the release of her breakthrough album One of the Boys, and gave a keynote interview at the 2013 ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO.
"Katy Perry has entertained and empowered millions of fans around the world with her brilliant music," ASCAP CEO Elizabeth Matthews said. "ASCAP is thrilled to begin a new chapter in our long, enduring relationship with Katy, who is beloved by radio and streaming listeners everywhere."
