Bon Iver Frontman Criticizes Beyoncé & Live Nation

The notoriously publicity-averse Bon Iver frontman hasn’t been doing many interviews this album cycle, but in a new interview with The Guardian to promote the upcoming 22, A Million, he doesn’t hesitate to speak his mind. “You can never be self-righteous, but it’s okay to be a little righteous,” he says. “You have to believe in something. Like, I’d prefer Beyoncé didn’t do a Pepsi tour. Do not take two million dollars from Pepsi and be a role model for young girls. Do not do that. That stuff does anger me. And I feel like I am not afraid to talk about that stuff.”
And he means it. Vernon explains that he doesn’t intend to play too many live shows after realizing during the last Bon Iver tour that “playing shows for Live Nation is just ******** and **** that. I grew up loving bands like the Indigo Girls, and they stood for something, doing benefit shows and talking about **** and changing culture or changing people’s mindsets and raising awareness. What’s music for? It’s not about having a bunch of CDs.”

If anything is ignorant is this post, what does her charity work have to do with him thinking that being sponsored by pepsi + being a good role model don't go together?
I didn't like the pepsi deal but $50m is not joke, so I don't blame her lol. She spent far more time promoting her "lets move!" & veganism campaign, then she did anything Pepsi.
Do not take two million dollars from Pepsi and be a role model for young girls. Do not do that. That stuff does anger me. And I feel like I am not afraid to talk about that stuff.

Love ur music dude, i'm seeing you live in january, but lets not with the special musical snowflake BS. Artist like Beyonce invest big money in their albums and performances, and would back in the day earn their money from album sales. Album sales are down these days, so they get their money elsewhere. She could be performing for dictators in Africa, but she's keeping it cute and performing for fans.

Pretty sure several Lemonade tracks have outsold multiple other girls' lead singles
I have some of my own qualms with Beyonce but this certainly isn't one of them. Who cares if she has endorsement deals or has someone sponsor the tour? Why drag someone for that?
He probably would prefer to live in a fairytale utopic socialistic werld as well. If you can't battle corporations, you better use them and make good use of the money. Better than sit and complain about how things are unfair and all that jazz. B knows her ****, she is not for the talks but for the walks.
