Researchers also report that “the notion of ‘monogamish’ appears to be increasing, particularly as couples are together for longer periods of time. … 75 percent of our 45 ‘monogamish’ respondents reported mostly having three-ways and always playing together as a couple. A few couples mentioned sex parties and bathhouses, but were clear they always played together.”
In addition to that, the researchers noticed what they call a “dis-owning of the notion of ‘open relationships’ which younger gay men assume are wide open, whatever goes, relationships. Open relationships are associated with previous generations of gay men and are viewed as part of the previous gay culture that is no longer necessary.”

800 participants isn't adequate to perform a valid study. The whole article reads like a gay scientist with a **** ton of bias went into their research determined to prove a conclusion that he'd already arrived at without any evidence.

Monogamy has basically been the norm since Christianity. In Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire it was also already considered the right thing to do.

I wholeheartedly believe that monogamy goes against our human nature, because we ultimately crave for freedom. Some of us my repress those urges, and it is a likely occurrence due to the effect of socialization, but if you tap into them, any kind of relationship that limits you through exclusivity goes against those elemental urges. I think Lana's intro to Ride perfectly describes these urges.
