It makes perfect sense. After the Art pop Era she must've felt completely abandoned in some way. It's underperfromance was a message from to her that the monsters werent as loyal as they had seemed during her first 2 previous eras.

In the video you see her performing in from of many fans as they dance and enjoy the music, but to juxtapose that the video then cuts to her performing alone and by herself, in the same setting, without the fans. The video ends to her alone in the dessert feeling once again abandoned by the crowds of screaming fans who had their 'paws' up for mother monster.

Couple that with the fact that her tone only grows angrier and more abrasive throughout the song as well as her demeanor in the video

No stop. The video is just her performing the song and showing her frustration about a relationship that didn't work out. It's not that deep mama. Gaga has said in recent radio interviews that she still loves her fans. Enough of this "She doesn't love her fans" crap because it doesn't exist.

No doubt Gaga still has love for her fans, but I understand why she would feel fustrated as she once believed she had far more devoted little monsters. 'It wasn't Love, It was the perfect illusion'

Gaga also said that there would be a lot of rage on the album, I think a lot of that stems from Art Pop tbh

Remember how Gaga reacted to 'Applause' and it's underperformance, twitter meltdown/video and all. It really got to her and this album is proof of it. Of course there are other factors (Taylor (her ex fiance), and her manager who she thought lover her but only cared about sales/charts)but the monsters are a motivating factor as well.
