In SNSD's early days the members used to laugh at both Tiffany AND Jessica when they didn't understand words in Korean and they even said they always spoke English between each other.
During their Japan debut, Jessica even said herself in an interview that she feels more comfortable speaking English than Korean.
I know that she is a Korean artist and releases material in Korean, but she is actually American, so I can see why some fans wanted her to respond to some of their English questions since she is a native speaker and could easily respond.
If they were spamming HyunA or someone with "english please" then I'd get it, but Jessica is American and able to speak English and she has international aspirations so her comment is a bit weird.
