She is really not given enough credit for her voice. Her whole MTV unplugged album had amazing vocals (I Kissed A Girl, Hackensack, Thinking of You) and that performance was beautiful.

I've been saying for the longest time, that she is a decent singer. She sounds awful when she performs Firework for some reason
It's a really, really tough song to sing. she can't really hit the high notes easily, and the rest of the song is low notes! But she has really learned how to sing it well!
And the haters who are saying that she is using autotune...stay pressed. Katy is laughing all the way to the bank with her beautiful voice. Did it ever occur to you that she is getting vocal lessons because she is about to go on a world tour?
