Grammy-nominated singer Britt Nicole is baring her soul on her upcoming self-titled album.
"This record just feels real," the singer, 32, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I'm not trying to be anything I'm not, nor am I hiding anything I am. I'm simply sharing my heart and life."
Over the last three years, the star's "whole family and everyone around" her also helped her write the album. "I got to create a lot of this record with my husband [Joshua Crosby]," she says. "My best work is always when I get to work with him."
"I especially have a heart for those who feel alone, hurt and lost, looking for hope," she says. "I write from my own experiences and from the stories I've heard from fans. My goal in writing is always to be authentic and vulnerable in hopes that the song will connect with someone who may be going through the same thing.
This album is really good, but why the hell is Concrete a deluxe version song?
all 3 deluxe songs are some of the best on the album
i got the cd today. Electric Love is the only Darkchild production that made the album, never would've guessed he produced that one
Listening again, my biggest issue with the album is that she really overuses the awkward little "raps" and random talking on some of the album's better songs. Also "Girls Night Out" is a painfully awkward, G-rated "Last Friday Night" ripoff if there ever was one. She remains delivering beautiful little ballads though!
I'm SO pleasantly surprised! I loved "Gold," but forgot about her until I scrolled through iTunes, and I'm so glad I did! "Through your Eyes" is AMAZING! These past couple weeks have been like Christmas for my music library
