I've been a long time user of Spotify, I love it. But I've heard that GPM allows you to upload up to 50,000 songs to listen across all of your devices and that caught my attention.
One important question is, how fast does it get new releases? Spotify is pretty good with that.
It's pretty good I think. When a single gets dropped earlier or surprised release, it usually will come within 24 hours after Spotify. I think albums are usually there the same time? Since albums tend to have a set release date and released to all platforms (apple, iTunes, Google, amazon) at the same time. With regular planned singles it usually comes within the morning of the release. I usually just listen to an illegal stream at night, the when I wake up in the morning it'll be there.

GPM is great imo. You can upload your own music library plus access the entire Google Music library for offline listening. Their radio services are great for discovering new artists and they get all of the new releases at the same time as Spotify and the other platforms. Also, their payout to artists is higher than Spotify and their streams are counted for Nielsen and Billboard afaik.

the android/IOS app's interface is far superior to the web version. i use both tho. [to the user before you]

-No YouTube ads, and you can save YouTube videos for offline.
-Great radio and playlists.
-Design can use work, plus artwork gets zoomed in.
-Sometimes it will mess with you music artwork.
Spotify
-Best way to discover new artists.
-Very social, you can share music with friends and work together with playlists.
-Best UI, easy to use.
-Great playlists.
-Doesn't store a music library on mobile, but you can on desktop.
-Doesn't have a vast music video library like GPM.
