I've thought this for a while, but as I'm watching the VMAs, I'm noticing how much of an impact social media has had on this generation. Like the commentators this year at the VMAs were constantly referencing Internet and social media related stuff. It's ruining the award show and absolutely idiotic.
What do you guys think?
A bit. In terms of media and music side, young people are stanning for loads of rubbish. People who lack talent, who are famous for being on Instagram, who are famous for being on YouTube. Just all crap, crap, crap.
People who have the full package when it comes to talent are paid f*****g dust.
It's ruining the image of the "global, earth-shattering" pop music titan. We're in a patch where we're changing over from that to the new form of pop star.
Independent of this topic as a reference to the VMAs, I still think it is. In many ways, I feel like it is inhibiting intellectual growth for a lot of people, making them lazy, and hampering the ability to communicate effectively, which is extremely ironic.
