Japan mostly don't give 2 craps about their neighbor. Also, the Japanese population is declining really fast. Gay people can't have kids, I think there would be an obvious push to want straight kids. But really, its not a huge deal.

Most young people I've met were very open minded. Probably because of older people. And religious people also.

Poorer countries rely more heavily on religion (and we all know what that means).

The government encourages the religious beliefs further,as it stops the people from rising up against the corrupt government. LGBT people are the easiest target to distract from the real enemy, they are scapegoats and easy to vilify.

There is a reason that richer countries are more accepting.

Kinda hard to believe that Yemen and Iraq are less homophobic than Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia
