When Sophie Tabatadze went to her local fitness club, she posted a picture of the notice on Facebook - and it has divided opinion
Tagging the club's Facebook account, Sophie also added, "And, by the way, since according to your rules we are not allowed to use a swimming pool 5-6 days each month, do we get a preferential price compared with men?"
It's a valid question.
The comments in response to the post were mixed. There was a lot of support for Sophie's message, but some seemed confused on whether it was "safe" for others for a woman to go swimming when on her period.
"It is for hygiene reasons. This has nothing to do with feminism or being against women rights."
"We have had some incidents about this where, I'm sorry that I have to mention, I have found tampons on the surface of the pool … it's for [the benefit of] the ladies themselves and for the others who are swimming."
A hygiene issue? People expel bodily fluids in public pools DAILY. I mean i understand both sides but like she said since they can't use it 6 days a month will their price be prorated?

I mean yeah women should maybe get 10% off or something (a correct discount would be 20% but there's also many other things to do at a fitness club.) Anyone saying it's fair obviously isn't a woman - although all women I know just avoid swimming during that time.
As if people aren't pissing in that pool on the daily why not do something about that too?
I mean they can't exactly determine before hand which type of people are going to piss in the pool now can they? This is obviously much easier since they know women of a certain age have periods and could cause a mess if they go in the water
