"Gaga has no talent as an actress" - New York Post
Quote:
On Wednesday it was confirmed that Lady Gaga will play the leading role in a new Warner Bros. remake of “A Star Is Born,” to be directed by the actor Bradley Cooper, who will also co-star. Unfortunately, this is not the set-up to a rejected “SNL” skit.
The first “A Star Is Born” was produced in 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor as a North Dakota farm gal with big dreams of silver-screen fame. That movie, itself, was a remake of a 1932 film called “What Price Hollywood?” Judy Garland’s superior 1954 version added songs — the most famous: “The Man Who Got Away.” And now we’re being downgraded from The Voice to The Meat Dress.
We got our first extended look at Gaga’s schmacting on “American Horror Story: Hotel,” where her turn as the ghoulish Countess felt inspired by her “Bad Romance” music video — icy and affected. Her resulting Golden Globe win caused my PTSD.
Sure the singer took part in a just-hot-enough-for-cable blood orgy, OK she rocked murderous, Cutco fingernails. Gaga’s cardinal sin was that she had no sympathetic or human qualities. She never does. Despite tossing catchy dance hits to the curb in favor of Rodgers and Hammerstein tributes and classy collaborations with Tony Bennett, she’s forever our girl in the egg-mobile.
He's being a bit extra but she was definitely born to be a singer She was wooden for the first couple episodes of AHS but gradually got better. The episode where
she got gunned down, healed and then gunned down again dd
was the peak of her acting, where she showcased her abilities and showed she can actually be a decent actress with enough practice.
Omg AHS was literally her first legit acting gig. She has so much room to GROW and IMPROVE unlike some other "artists" who can't even pull off a super bowl half time show.
She was cast in that role for a pretty obvious reason.
Hopefully the next season she has the chance to demonstrate even more talenté. Watch other fan bases call her a bad singer / actress / performer despite winning Grammys, Oscars and Tony awards etc.
