Discussion: Things to do in London?

I am traveling to London on Thursday with my dad and I want to know which places we can go...

Like good places to eat, to go to in the evening and some cultural places.

Any Ideas?

I was gonna suggest the Hello Kitty Cafe, but then I doubt your father would exactly be down for that. I'd heavily suggest checking out a bunch of museums, check out Soho and surroundings areas (Chinatown, etc) and shopping around there.

What are your interests? It'll help w/ suggestions.

My father is more into museums and other stuff like that which I also like, I am more into pop-culture, fashion, music, sports and clubbing.

He already agreed to go clubbing with me once while we are in London.

I mostly go there for shopping and my family there but theres this place in London that has my fave burgers: Patty & Bun, i usually go to the one at James but it's always crowded, there are others in London, and if if you like ramens I think you might like Shoryu,

You guys can hang Soho, Covent Garden, Notting hill, Camden and Brick Lane for the markets. I know the National Gallery is free and there's a lot to see. For how long are you staying there?
Can't wait to see the other ideas though for the next time I go there

For museums go to South Kensington... Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum are a short walking distance from the tube station... There's always a contemporary exhibition in V&A... There was one on shoes recently, didn't see it though

I personally like NHM.

I'd get on the piccadilly line in South Kensington, get off in Covent Garden.

From there you can take this route (I suggest you do this in the evening, maybe start at like 6 pm):

Covent Garden --> Leicester sq --> piccadilly circus --> regents street --> oxford street

There are loads of cute restaurants in the streets adjacent to oxford street... Also nice places in Covent Garden

Seeing the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace is something very touristy but very boring for me. Google for times if you're interested lol

If you to go Westminster you can see London Eye, Big Ben, London Dungeons etc. I wasn't a big fan of the Dungeons.

There's also the Shard, the tallest building in Europe - I think you can get on there for a panoramic views for a fee

Haven't done that either, but it's an option!

Hyde park must be fun in the summer but I wouldn't waste my valuable time there.

For transportation, use CityMapper. MUCH better than google maps

There's a shopping centre called Westfield in Shepherd's Bush but again, I wouldn't waste too much time...

Madame Tussdauds is fun if you have the time and money and it's a museum while it has enough 'pop culture' there to keep both you and your dad entertained!

If you want to go shopping then go to Oxford but if you want to get the same brands in cheaper price then I suggest you go to outlet stores like the one near Wembley Stadium.

I suggest you eat at Sushisamba (if you like Japanese food) not only because the food is great but the view is stunning as well.

The Shard would be a good spot to go to in the afternoon, there are loads of cute bars and restaurants around there by the river.

OP: Your Dad will love the museums/galleries around Trafalgar Square, the National Portrait Gallery is one of my faves. The Victoria and Albert museum in Kensington is also cute, they have a really cool and interesting fashion exhibit. Your Dad might like the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, tonnes of history and things to do.

Go to places like Hackney, Peckham, Brixton, Catford and Croydon late at night. A lot of 24-hour restaurants and other nice things to do there.

You can climb Primrose Hill on a sunny day and have a picnic, it shows a gorgeous view of all of London from the top. And maybe sign up for one of those tourist bus trips, where the bus literally drives you around the city informing you of awesome landmarks etc etc.

I did that, however a bit backwards - starting off at Buckingham Palace working my way round to end up on Southbank

I disagree with the Madame Tussdauds purely because why pay to see wax when you can just stare at photos of celebrities in magazines for free
