Finding the right song for a gymnast's routine at the Olympics probably isn't as simple as one would imagine. But in the case of gold medalist Gabby Douglas, she found inspiration for her Olympics floor routine after listening to a Shakira song at the mall and using Shazam to track down the tune -- according to Dominic Zito, the official USA Gymnastics National Team choreographer.
In an interview with MEL, Zito said that Douglas is one of the few USA gymnasts who will pick out the songs she likes for choreography. One of those songs happened to be Shakira's "Dare (La La La)." "That’s actually how Gabby found her music last year -- she heard a Shakira piece playing in a mall, and she Shazam'd it and sent it over." Adding: " She has a favorite style, that kind of salsa Latin flair, which actually helps."
