Brutal DC Staff Letter Goes Viral—Crucifies Zack Snyder/WB
You have GOT to read this viral letter blowing up right now from a former WB staff member, who is
going by the name “Gracie Law” — Kim Cattrall’s character in the movie "Big Trouble in Little China."

When people use “shots fired” to draw attention to some hot gossip, the news being referenced rarely fulfills the promise of high drama. But an open letter written by an alleged former Warner Bros. employee to her former place of employment is truly a diamond in the infinite digital sea of garbage. It isn’t “shots fired.” It’s “The nuclear codes have been entered.”
Read the scathing, BRUTAL letter below:
Quote:
When I left my screening of Suicide Squad last week, I was angry. I was angry because I couldn't stop thinking about you, Kevin Tsujihara. A lot of fans might be angry (and rightfully so) because you keep completely whiffing at properties that they are desperate to love and enjoy. I am a former Warner Bros employee. I was also there in 2014, when you made the decision to lay off 10 percent of your workforce. The thing that really sticks with me is the memo you sent. Let me refresh you on my favorite part:
At Warner Bros., we work with the world's most extraordinary storytellers, and our focus has always been to provide the creative environment and financial resources they need to realize their vision. Our commitment to that won't change.
That year we pursued the storytelling vision of Adam Sandler's Blended and Clint Eastwood's Jersey Boys. Failures. We pursued a potentially great summer movie like Edge of Tomorrow and completely botched its release. Same with Man From UNCLE. We dug in our heels and hoped The Hobbit Trilogy would somehow stop being a mediocre case of diminishing returns. Talented, loyal people packed their boxes and went home while your story tellers dropped the ball.
One could argue that this was not your fault. That you inherited former CEO Barry Meyer's agenda and were merely trying to correct the course of an ocean liner heading for an iceberg.
I would not make this argument. And here's why: I wrote this letter last year. I actually started forming it in my head after Man of Steel was a box office failure instead of the modern classic tentpole you were expecting.
I kept holding off on doing anything with [this letter] because of one title: Suicide Squad. Zack Snyder's Dawn of Justice was a fiasco, but here comes this plucky little dark adventure about antiheroes. I love David Ayer. I love Harley Quinn. I love Will Smith. Put the letter in a drawer. The ship isn't sinking anymore. Everything is fine. There's no way this movie is bad.
And here we are. I got back from my screening and dusted this sucker off. You, your executive team, and the vision of your 'extraordinary storytellers' that resulted in the loss of around one thousand jobs seem intent on crashing the ship into as much **** as you can find in the ocean by making inane decisions over and over again.
Zack Snyder is not delivering. Is he being punished? Assistants who were doing fantastic work certainly were. People in finance and in marketing and in IT. They had no say in a movie called Batman V Superman only having 8 minutes of Batman fighting Superman in it, that ends because their moms have the same name. Snyder is a producer on every DC movie. He is still directing Justice League. He is being rewarded with more opportunity to get more people laid off. I'm assuming you yourself haven't been financially affected in any real way. You and your studio are the biggest lesson about life one can learn: The top screws up and the bottom suffers. Peter Jackson phones it in and a marketing supervisor has to figure out a plan B for house payments.
Your uneven Hall H presentation at Comic Con this year was a ridiculous mess that ranged from rushed to boring. When Marvel announced their full slate of films with a fun fan event several years ago, you announced yours on a shareholder conference call.
You just don't get it. And it's not just DC movies, it's your whole slate. Jupiter Ascending. Get Hard. Hot Pursuit. Max. Vacation. Pan. Point Break. ****ing PAN, you jerk. People lost their jobs and you decided Pan was a good idea. You think another Jungle Book is a good idea.
What are you even doing? I wish to God you were forced to live out of a car until you made a #1 movie of the year. Maybe Wonder Woman wouldn't be such a mess. Don't try to hide behind the great trailer. People inside are already confirming it's another mess. It is almost impressive how you keep rewarding the same producers and executives for making the same mistakes, over and over.
If I worked at a donut stand, and I kept ****ing up donuts, I'd be fired. Even if I made a tiny decent one every now and then, it doesn't matter. I'm gonna get fired.
I love that studio, and you're allowing it to sink. It's not about making movies for 'the fans' and not 'the critics.' It's not even about 'ruining childhoods.' It's about protecting livelihoods.
It's time to wake up and make the ****ing donuts, Kevin.

Jesus H. Christ.

Now THIS is an exopsé. Ripping Zack Snyder to shreds with a chainsaw. Cutting Adam Sandler, Peter Jackson, and Clint Eastwood off at the knees with a machete. Pretty much confirming "Wonder Woman" is going to be a disaster.
This is a must-read. What are your thoughts on this? I enjoy DC a billion times more than Marvel, but this ex-WB staff letter just let out every frustration every DC fan is feeling, while ending the lives of executives/directors at WB with an AK-47.

Suicide squad was actually a decent movie though......
Frustrated employee mad they got fired. If the movie studio is so bad go work at the other main ones. Three of my friends graduated in may and have jobs there.

I was also 150% confused when reading that there was going to be ANOTHER live action version of "The Jungle Book." What in the WORLD in going on at WB? WHY would you want to spend money on that project after Disney already did it? They need to get it together. With all of these bad, and frankly, strange decisions, it's a little astonishing (pretty much a miracle) that WB is actually the third biggest movie studio in the world behind Disney and NBCUniversal.

Shots FIRED.
Slightly off topic but I just got back from seeing Suicide Squad. It wasn't that bad but the editing and storyline was definitely a mess. Margot/Will Smith saved the film to be honest so I struggle to see her lies.

"Suicide Squad" had issues, but it wasn't bad at all. And the letter alludes to that by subtly comparing "Suicide Squad" and "Man of Steel" to "decently made donuts" in a batch of "bad donuts." But there was definitely way too much Will Smith in the film, in fact, he shouldn't be in the film at all. Whenever you put an actor like Will Smith or Matt Damon or George Clooney or Kristen Wiig or Melissa McCarthy in a film, you're not going to fall into the film and see a character being portrayed, you're going to be taken out of the film when they're on screen and all you're going to see is Will Smith or Matt Damon or George Clooney or Kristen Wiig or Melissa McCarthy "acting like themselves" (since they all lack any form of acting talent).

I bet you Patty "Gracie Law" Jenkins is the one that actually wrote the letter.
Rest in peace, "Fantastic Beasts."

Warners is so high on Fantastic Beasts' prospects that it is saying "no thanks" to Brett Ratner and James Packer's money. Sources say the studio is holding back Beasts, which opens Nov. 18, and the sequel from its slate co-finance partner RatPac-Dune Entertainment. By contrast, it hedged its bets on Suicide Squad and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice by cutting in RatPac-Dune.
"Harry Potter is Warner Bros.' crown jewel, and they are not going to allow anyone else to share in the profits," says a source familiar with the deal.

Fantastic Beasts should be fine. J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay and the director is a complete puppet so he can't pull a Snyder on the Wizarding World.
Poor Patty. First she said yes to that terrible Thor script and now she's stuck with WB/DC.

A MESS
She spilled that truth tea though, WB seem like they have no idea what the **** they're doing. I'm lowkey scared for Fantastic Beasts but I trust JKR will work her magic and everything will be fine.

The sis kinda loses credibility
when she claims the Hobbit trilogy was some kinda under performance
And not her blaming Man Of Steel on Kevin Tsujihara
when the film was green lit and filmed before he even took office.

she claimed that the Hobbit was a trilogy of diminishing returns which is 100% true
Lord of the Rings movies were only getting bigger at the box office and better

FOR NOW, DC/WB is going to be in the clear with the first slate of films featuring their most famous characters: Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Justice League, and to a lesser extent, Aquaman. Audiences will show up to those films out of sheer curiosity, to see how these characters are represented on screen, just like they did with 'Suicide Squad." WB will make back their budget and have a small, but decent profit with those films. IF WB/DC manages to make "Wonder Woman" and the next Batman film good, THEN audiences will come back. If "Wonder Woman," "Justice League," "Aquaman," and the next Batman film are all disasters, NO ONE will be showing up for anymore DC films, especially not a "Flash" film or "Shazam" film and definitely not a "Cyborg" film. This first slate of films is CRUCIAL for WB/DC.
Although, something tells me WB is going to TRASH this entire DCEU series and start from scratch again in 2019 if everything goes south, which won't be too bad. The only loss will be Viola Davis, Henry Cavill, and Margot Robbie, since every other actor in the DCEU is either untalented or miscast or both untalented and miscast: Amy Adams, Ben Affleck.
