Allows insecure gays to deflect their insecurities and self-doubt onto someone else in the spotlight, which they relish because they know it makes their life in private seem easier.
To bring them to the dark side and then become less attracted to them when they realize all they really wanted and saw in them was the fantasy of ****ing a straight man. Basically to think they have some sort of chance now that they like the same sex
because they can't find a man in real life, so they sit behind computer all day digging up "receipts" to show how someone is attracted to the same-sex.
