Has anyone seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Netflix? It was horribly transfered to HD and widescreen which shouldn't be what it is and then they edited out the musical Once More with Feeling they edited out a chunk of "I've Got a Theory" and then they edited out the bridge of "Walk through the Fire"

Yeah, they should have never done that. Even Joss himself wanted it to stay widescreen, because otherwise it ruins the illusion behind the scenes.

They took it off Netflix UK.

I heard the HD was trash. This should become the official Buffy thread. We need one.

No Once More With Feeling as I said in the OP was edited to hell and back and they took out a whole lot of I've Got a Theory and Walk Through the Fire

Besides that, are they good or nah? especially S5

They look alright, season six and seven look the best. I skimmed through all the seasons today and just found the biggest issues for S1-S5. All of them are overly sharpened, fine detail throughout some of the seasons but effects look horrible, they didn't upconvert them so they had to completely redo the dusting effect which looks bad. In a ton of episodes throughout, there's filters not added so scenes of Buffy sleeping in the dark are now in daylight which makes no sense and more. And you can see cropping issues, so scenes are highly zoomed in losing frames, and when they're not you can see production crew

What they need to do is get Joss to handle the HD transfers, keeping it in the 4:3 format as the show originally was made in, and just take their time with it. X-Files could have been a mess and that show looks amazing on Blu-ray, same with Twin Peaks. It just can't be done in a month like Fox did.

Omg I knew something was strangely different but couldn't tell what I was confused with the quality and the widescreen was such a surprise.
