Simon said the judges will be announced in the coming weeks. There are rumors about Nicole Sherzinger, Cheryl Cole, Mariah Carey and Tommy Mattola being judges.

It's a legitimate promotion.

And typically major shows get promoted a year before it is released, much like a movie can be. Glee actually aired a teaser episode a season before it came on full time....and Fox is doing that again with a new futuristic show it's putting HUNDREDS of MILLIONS into called 'Terranova'.

This is kind of shady though. How could they slide that X-Factor promotion in when American Idol hasn't even started yet.

Regardless as the OP said, it would be awesome if it was filmed in New York.
