Japanese culture is very different to American culture. The age of sexual consent is like 13.

Yeah it's very weird. I remember playing a mmorpg and there was a lolita class where the character looks 12 and she barely wears anything. You can even undress her, it's so weird.

This sounds like an American writing on japanese culture. Like i hate when foreigners go to other countries with different problems and laws and think they know everything. This twitter user is also blocking anyone who disagrees with them so they are even trying to have an open dialog.

what i dont like is the fact that this user is acting like japan is not addressing these issues themselves. They dont need a ****ing outsider casting judgement on issues in their society when they are actively trying to fix them

Thats like someone going to south korea and judging them and writing an expose on korean suicide rates while the government is trying to get them lowered. The japanese government is banning/has banned all of this as we speak so the "expose" this user wrote is pointless.

Age of consent in Japan is 13, keep that in mind

Most idols and j pop stars are well above that age and they all have dating bans. If the record label finds that any of them are dating then they get dropped and fined heavily. Its not uncommon in asia pop groups to debut 16 year olds. Minzy from 2ne1 was 15 when she debuted as a kpop star

the making and distribution of child **** has been long illegal however there was a loop hole in the system. the loop hole was that one could have images of child abuse as long as you dont spread them or upload them. The government then put a ban on possession once this loop hole was noted

animated child **** is still an issue because of anime but people in japan are now trying to get it banned

The child **** in manga has already been addressed after japanese people brought it up the their government.

japan does have its issues with sexism but thats due to traditional views that women should stop working to stay at home and take care of children. There are more female college graduates than men, more women reach high school than men etc. However like i said, most japanese homes are not dual income, the man works while the women stay at home. Japanese women also have the highest life expectancy in the world.

Don't wanna talk about the subject of pedophilia because it's extremely delicate, but I kinda agree with the darkened part. From our point of view, it's for sure very creepy and disturbing, but it's the same thing as this company that makes child looking blow up doll ... If that can stop pedophiles from going after real children, it can only be a good thing.

Yeah, that's something that I noticed too. Most MMORPG from Asian countries always feature this child-like race (Loli classes) that are always overly sexualised (usually the most popular races of the game in those countries ...).

It's very hard to express feelings on this subject since the culture talked about is extremely different from western cultures. There's no bad or wrong involved, or a value judgement to make, it's just different :s ...

I'm also not going to value anything this person says after reading the rest of their tweets. They are nothing more than a hateful whiny black supremacist. His twitter is just full of him slandering white people, telling people white opinions dont matter, and complaining about western issues while living in a country that doesnt have not police brutality

You collapsed your entire argument with this wrongfully generalizing statement. There are a few specific countries in the region that are at fault for this but they are second or third world countries. Japan is a first world country but that doesn't stop it from being backwards at times.

my argument has not collapsed since i mentioned that japan has its societal issues but the government is actively working on it. out of my entire argument, you get pissy when i make a statement about abuse happening in the middle east as a method of comparison, ok.
