Peoria police say they arrested a 33-year-old woman at Lake Pleasant who was found drinking in a bar while her 18-month-old wandered alone on a dock surrounded by deep water.
Roseanna Ellen Langford Kempson, of Scottsdale, was arrested Saturday after an employee working at a Lake Pleasant dock saw a toddler wandering unsupervised on the dock, which juts over water reaching 100 feet deep, according to police records.
Police said the employee and several other witnesses stated that they saw Kempson stumbling around, possibly drunk, and not attending to her child. The boy wasn’t wearing a life jacket, police said.
Kempson was booked into a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of child abuse and endangerment. She has since been released from custody.

I hope the child can be placed in a safer environment while his mom recovers and pays for her negligence .
