In a new interview with Billboard to promote the movie-musical Burlesque and it’s accompanying soundtrack, RCA Music Group senior VP of marketing and artist development Scott Seviour hints at the possibility or remarketing Bionic off the back of the film.
“Burlesque,” Seviuor says, “ideally gives us the opportunity to remarket ‘Bionic.’ “
However, for now, attentions are focused firmly on Burlesque and the soundtrack, which is due to hit stores on November 22. Seviour adds that RCA haven’t serviced an official Burlesque soundtrack single to radio yet (“Express” was just a one off to promote the movie on the Ryan Seacrest show), but that the label will revisit the idea after the movie opens this week. To further promote the project, Aguilera will perform a song from the soundtrack at today’s American Music Awards, and then on Dancing with the Stars on November 23.
This is actually a smart idea. If people begin to warm up to more because of the movie, they might be more interested. I don't know if I agree on just re-releasing Bionic, but I do want Bionic as a single, so I'm for it.
What single could they even hope to push to ride off possible success from Burlesque? There's really nothing on it musically that's similar besides 'Vanity" and there's no way in **** she'd release that amazing disaster of a song.
There's apprently leftover Ladytron tracks and songs from Danja and Dr. Luke from the Bionic sessions so they could easily re-release Bionic with more material, hopefully the Danja or Dr. Luke song would make a good single.
Am a Christina stan and all, but hell to the nah! she should not be wasting her money on something pointless. She should just record the damn new album and make us happy
