Ex-Fall Out Boy lead singer Patrick Stump has revealed his debut solo album will be released in February 2011.
Entitled '
Soul Funk', the studio effort will be his first since Fall Out Boy went on an indefinite break in 2009.
"
The album should be out in February," Stump told MTV.com. "
And as can be inferred from the long delay, it's changed dramatically from the album I alluded to a year ago."
Stump added that the first song that fans will hear is called '
Spotlight' and that will happen "
very soon".
"
I'll let the label decide what's a single," he explained. "
But 'Spotlight' will be the first 'Soul Punk' song people will hear, and that will happen very soon."
"
As for the delay of the album itself," he continued. "
I'd say it's been less about the music or recording and more about all the other things that finish the thought. I just want to make sure I go to sleep at night knowing I'm not half-assing this."
