With Katy recently completing a global sold out tour with a smash single (still top 10 on iTunes ) and lady Gaga releasing her new acclaimed jazz album, then a single that majorly underperformed despite a performance at the Oscars, a music video and multiple other promotional performances. the differences in their current status and success are striking.
What did Katy Perry do that Lady Gaga didn't? Why is Katy able to be massively successful in 2016 whereas the latter is struggling?
I think Gaga went literally gaga at some point - she was so full of herself and confident in her art that she took it a bit too far with ARTPOP, which turned the geepee off.
Lady Gaga's shock antics and gimmicks could only carry her so far before the GP got tired of them. Not to mention, she hasn't released good music in almost half a decade.

Gaga's music and visuals are 1000xharder to digest. I mean... Gaga is a risk taker, Katy... oh well. Katy clearly worked with certain producer for hits. Good for her, though. Nothing wrong!
