It's been over 4 years since it's last release and "P.T." was cancelled. Book of Memories was a flop that destroyed what Silent Hill stood for.

I remember my first Silent Hill game. Homecoming. It was scary and gave me chills. Then came Shattered Memories on the Wii, followed by the weak Downpour. Eventually the PS3 remaster of the second and third game came out and I realized how amazing this franchise really is.

Downpour came out in 2012. I am feining for a new Silent Hill game. Where's Konami? Can we say the public still has a soft spot for the franchise? Or should we bury it and let it perish?

Would you be down for a new story? Can we still show that there's interest to Konami?

it's really sad. it's one of the most artistic games with unique art direction that still impacts today

For now, yeah, but I really doubt that we won't get another main game out of it, perhaps in a few years time. After the cancellation of Silent Hills I think a comeback would be very hyped and sell well consequently, unless it turns out to be **** or something.

I mean , Konami is focused with Pachinko games in Japan they even tried to make a SH Pachinko game and received backlash for it
and they don't even want to sell the IP to some other company either hope they go bankrupt if they don't do any new silent hill games

Book of Memories is considered more of a spin-off btw, Silent Hills was supposed to be the 9th installment after Downpour

I found this article comparing Resident Evil 7 to the new Silent Hill. Only difference is it'll be Umbrella themed and have zombies (maybe?) in it.

I have Silent Hill on PS3 downloaded (Playstation classics on PS3). I then played the remastered versions of two and three. I never played four...

I couldn't beat the flying demon thing boss at the end of the first game. I never got around to re-playing it to save/stock up on ammo and health. It was a bitch.

you can try 2,3,4 on pc (And 1 also since it has an emulator included)

2 & 3 remasters aren't that good at all especially the 2nd one besides both of them having not that good VA in the remaster (i prefer the original one) , they have lots of bugs , plus the 2nd one is made after an unfinished alpha/beta version they had and you can see that some structures are also pretty messy (Maria having teeth instead of eyes when she gets killed for the 3rd time)

but they are really cool tbh, they are worth playing

Yes. The old team that did the games had a very specific vision of the game that translated into its world, characters, story, atmosphere, etc.

And that was the success of the earlier games. It was more of a psychological type of horror game. It really did get in your head.

The recent games weren't able to do that imo and that's most likely because the original team disbanded and they most likely won't get back together in the future so.

I'm currently replaying Silent Hill 2 I just need something on par with Silent Hill 3 and I will be happy. Just one more amazing game.
