Miss Alabama: “I don’t feel sad for the Dallas officers"
Kalyn Chapman James, crowned the first black Miss Alabama in 1993 was fired from her job at the local Miami television station after she called the man who fatally shot and killed 5 Dallas police officers a “martyr”. I mean she has the first amendment “free speech”
Quote:
“I don’t feel sad for the officers that lost their lives, and I know that’s not really my heart"
Quote:
James said she knows the police officers “didn’t deserve to die,” but that she couldn’t help the way she felt. She repeatedly said she does not condone violence.
“I’m so torn up in my heart about seeing these men, these black men, being gunned down in our community that I can’t help but feel like…I wasn’t surprised by what the shooter did to those cops,” she said. “I think a lot of us feel the same way.”
Do you guys agree with her stance?
What do you think?
She just became what she hates. I don't understand how someone could possibly applaud the killing innocent cops who had nothing to do with the situation on hand. Vile.
The news needs to stop sensationalizing irrelevant people's opinion like this. Also I feel bad for the police officers but something irks me about how all the white people+news outlets are treating this like the most devastating occurrence when 49 people just got massacred last week and people flinched for a weekend and then moved on. The truth is people are desensitized to these things nowadays and most people are just utilizing this occurrence to be racist or try to step up and be a hero for black people. Tbh I haven't commented on this whole ordeal because I don't want to be apart of it. I accept that black people are hurting which is what truly matters at the end of the day and it's going to take a lot of compassion to fix that. I also think the black/all lives matter debate is really ****ing pathetic. Once again the world stays fighting about a WORD instead of the bigger issue.
