I don't think police officers should be attacked but when day after day people are killed for the color of their skin and neither justice nor accountability is brought, people will start feeling hopeless and stop caring. The only way to bring peace is to bring justice, and the state-sanctioned killings need to end. Calling this a riot only brutalizes the oppressed and ignores the reason why they are protesting.

actually the news article refers to it as a protest and refers to the people who injured the officers as protesters. The OP put riot in the title for some reason

however the people responsible were charged with 3rd degree rioting but the media hasnt referred to the overall protest as a riot (yet)

the user i was responding to immediately jumped on the "dont call it a riot because oppression blah blah" bandwagon so i was letting them know that the news article itself, listed it as a protest by protesters.

im was simply debunking that user's readiness to blame the media for calling it a riot when they hadnt (yet)

Thanks, but I clicked through and I wasn't talking about the media outlet, I was responding to the title because people like OP (and you I guess) clearly need assistance figuring out why this is happening, but glad to know you care about oppression blah blah. Stay in school

did you even read my first response to you??

i said the news article didnt label it as a riot and the OP but riot in the title. I already said it was a protest by protesters that happened to turn violent. i never called it a riot. and me saying oppression blah blah was because i didnt feel like typing everything you said

Hate to say it but none of this would be happening if some action were put forth to stop police brutality against African Americans, peacefully protesting and protesting in general doesn't seem to work anymore. This is a sad time to be black in America, animals are treated better than us.
