You mean "developed" country? That's not going to happen anytime soon and probably never will unless it fragments into several sovereign countries considering the Philippines has already reached the population economic threshold of 100 million people. There is no developed country in the world that has a population greater than 100 million except the US and Japan. Even oil-rich Arab countries with 10+ times higher per capita income than the Philippines are not yet categorized as developed. The Philippines has a long way to go and is now only starting to catch up to higher middle-income ASEAN countries like Malaysia and Thailand in terms of economic prosperity and standard of living, and it would probably take several decades before it reaches that status assuming its economic progress will continue.
