I didn't become woke till around last year also, can you tell a reason or a event on why you're woke? I think the whole BLM made me woke and showed me how systematic racism is still ingrained in our society and how we view and treat people of color

But I used to be a mess when it came to race I knew racism was bad but I always wanted to give racists so many chances and I used to believe in reverse racism... I became aware/woke around April 2014

But these days people are overly-woke. Creating issues out of boredom, which instigates more segregation and problems. As bad as this sounds, i think some newer generation of woke people are just too sensitive. They argue about fickle meaningless things triggering them, and not tackling the bigger picture.

Now this is the most progressive, diverse and "woke" television show in the world right now. The overall season focused on BLM, and people took offense to that saying OITNB had no right to focus on it? Bitch why? Look at the overall picture. The promotion it is giving the movement. They killed off an LGBT WOC character, and that was also seen as an attack on LGBT - even though it was written by a lesbian woman! It was to bring awareness. Reflect reality.

But this generation of woke sees it as them sensationalising things, because boo hoo they killed the character they like the most. Get over it. Television and movies shouldn't have to be all upbeat and constantly shoving the all gays are happy narrative. They sometimes have to get real. But a lot of younger woke people can't handle that.

For example on cultura appropiation thing, people rather insult and attack instead of educate. I mean, I understand that there is some things about culture which are really important or spiritual, but insulting someone and not letting them know is going to create just conflict also, people cannot expect for another culture to not take something they like and use it specially in countries like the US where a lot of cultures are together sharing the same space... at the end I am very woke and I understand both sides of the story.

There is a lot of things in here, I mean it's a pretty delicate matter and people need to be open-minded indeed I hope people really ''wakes up'' and realize that we need indeed less hate and more love
