Were you taught this in school and did you enjoy the subject?
At my secondary school/high school, we were never taught this and the teachers were a bit too PC. Sometimes they would look at us like we're children when we're actually teenagers.
However a few men and women from this group about educating youth came in and spoke to us about crime, gangs, education, sex education and how to use condoms, the advantages of them etc.
We were taught this in middle school but it was a waste of time because I already knew, and I'm also gay and don't have to deal with pregnancy and female anatomy. Obviously it's an important class in general, but I didn't gain much.
Yes, we started it in Year 10 in Science, but we had a trip to my future secondary school for a sex education talk in Primary 7, we also had more sex education talks in Year 10 and Year 12, in Year 12 it was a collaboration with other secondary and grammar schools, it was really knowledgeable and it was funny as well.
We were taught about everything really. From the basics of sex to sexual acts. We were even taught how to put on condoms. Where we can find clinics. This was all in year 10 though
No but once every term we had a day where we would have no actual lessons and we would do random activities where they would tell us about cancer, forced marriages, healthy living etc and they told us how to put a condom on (a cucumber)
The subject only exists in Uni here. We were taught mostly on religious perspective on sex and how to avoid all those diseases, teenage pregnancy etc. I found it very interesting, I didn't like the exam though I got a B+ for it. .
No, not really. Never at primary school, although once, one of my teachers tried but all the boys s******ed and she stopped. At high school, we spoke about it minimally in health class. We just had to kind of awaken to it without the help of formal education.
