He's a British legend for sure. I was raised on his music by my mother and I think that's why I love pop music that has an underlying, slightly tongue in cheek message. He's also a fantastic performer, even though his vocals aren't always incredible.

Yet there are artists who are incredibly local that people consider legends. This logic makes zero sense considering the three biggest selling bands of all time were British.

Anyway, I didn't know him before I heard of him on ATRL but looking at his stats he's literally successful everywhere BUT the US, which is unfortunate as its held him back from selling as much as say Usher or Eminem, even JT but I still think his longevity is impressive and he's certainly a legend in the markets he's succeeded in. That says something.

Robbie even more so than Kylie, not trying to undermine Kylie's success but her main markets are basically AUS and the UK, I looked up her stats in the 90's and they weren't impressive even throughout Europe and Oceania, Janet Jackson has more hits and sold more albums accross Europe during the 90's and she's considered local here she's also not popular in Asia.

Robbie on the other hand has had consistent success in just about everywhere BUT the US, his career has been more stable compared to Kylie who didn't really come back strong again till fever in 2001.

In the UK yes. He's absolutely massive here, his albums and touring stats in the UK are extremely impressive plus he's had great longevity. I don't personally like him but to be fair his achievements are undeniable.

Influence? Pretty much every boyband member going solo credits him as influence. Some of the biggest solo acts in Europe were inspired by him too. While being in Take That they started the 90s boyband craze.

Legacy? Biggest artist in UK (and Germany) and one of in Europe this century (with Take That, his group, being second in UK). Angels is iconic, so is Feel and Rock DJ. He managed to crack every market with ease less US where he only tried with a Take That single that went top 10.
