I would have been offended if she held up a British flag.
I understand the situation with the other flag is different, they were two countries but Northern Ireland was literally taken and some of the stuff that has happened because of it is hideous. I know there will be some people here who understand what it's like to grow up being terrorised constantly but for those that don't they will take the situation lightly.
Don't bring it up, I am NOT British, I am Irish and many Irish people will take a lot of offence to being called British and such things and take offence to people saying that Northern Ireland is a different country to Ireland, as far as a huge amount of the population are concerned, we are not British. We have dual citizenship.
So do not mention it again.
