I'm gonna start driving weekly with my mum to hopefully get the gist of it. My theory test is also in August.
I'm worried about parallel parking and roundabouts
But yeah, the balancing stuff seems a bit tricky but I'm slowly getting it.

My question is for any new or experienced drivers: did you find it difficult learning how to drive?
Bonus question: is the theory test / hazard awareness difficult?

Yes! But everyone can drive, and so can you! Just practice a lot. The exams shouldn't be too difficult

No, well not for me. It's a bit scary at first but once you gain more confidence you will get much better especially with an experienced driver guiding you.

Roundabouts might be intimidating at first, but you'll get used to them if you practice enough.
Parallel was never an issue for me, but my ex would pull in so hard that she would constantly walk-hit, lol. So just practice that if you aren't good initially.

Driving is all about practice. Do it enough and it will be second nature.

I don't think it was difficult but my lector was really good and we laughed a lot. He yelled at me only once when I almost killed us.
If you are not good at something or you are scared of something just ask him to practice it more, he should help.
The theory test was very easy, you just have to learn about 500 questions and right answers, but most of them are really basic knowledge. But idk how difficult it can be in your country.

d; the hazard questions are always ridiculously easy because the answer is always: 'turn on hazard lights.'
There's this question about if you're in a tunnel and your car is on fire, what you should you do. I obviously said get out of the car but the correct answer was 'try to reach the end of the tunnel'

Tip for doing the parallel parking: Find another parking spot.

I found getting through the driving test difficult, not the learning to drive that was quite straightforward apart from left hand reverse which is just really awkward and completely useless. The theory test is quite easy, especially hazard perception.

No, not difficult at all. Don't worry! (made my license in Germany).
The teacher was really cool and I had a great time learning how to drive. I guess it was a nice time for him as well because he never had to do anything because I've been a responsible driver from the start.

Have to say I drove a car before the actual lessons, because some years before I took lessons I was living in a very small town with almost no police and my boyfriend allowed me to drive his car a few times. We did that near some fields without other cars, we didn't want to put someone at risk.

Just stay focused, learn the road signs, show the teacher you're a responsible person! Driving the car itself is the easiest thing ever. The theory test is easy as well if you learn for it, the questions were the questions from the books they gave us, I just learned them by heart

I recently sat the theory test in Ireland and the answer is "Leave the vehicle and follow the emergency escape route."

The biggest setback is definitely confidence. You can pick up some of the basic concepts like stop signs/lights, turning/turn signals and then your fast progress will help your confidence.

You can definitely do it! You me and Instinct -- this should be our goal by the end of the year

Not really, but I didn't have to learn to drive a manual. It becomes natural pretty quickly.

In the US (or at least my state) everyone has to pass the written exam before you can even get a learner's permit, so probably.

Manual is harder. I think everyone is different.
